Stainless Steel Tote Tanks in the Flavor & Fragrance Industry

The US flavor and fragrance industry is experiencing sustained growth as analysts predict many companies will begin expanding production and increasing capacity to keep up with increasing consumer demand. Globally, the market sector is expected to exceed $57.4 billion by the year 2025, according to BusinessWire.com.

As the flavor and fragrance (F&F) industry continues to grow more complex and increasingly competitive, Metano has sought to provide customer-tailored, flexible IBC (intermediate bulk container) solutions for liquid raw material suppliers and flavor and fragrance producers.first1.png

The driving factor for the industry's positive performance is attributed to above average growth in major end-use applications such as cosmetics and toiletries, soaps and detergents, fine fragrances, and savory foods and beverages (with beverages being the largest F&F market end-use segment).

Our extensive line of industrial containers are available in capacities ranging from 180 to 550 gallons to fit a METANO_PRODUCTS_IMAGE.jpgwide range of production volumes. All of our stainless steel, carbon steel, and polyethylene composite containers are stackable, washable, and reusable - providing a more cost-effective and reliable method of handling, storing and shipping liquids versus traditional 55-gallon drums.

Our sales and marketing teams understand the challenges of small and medium-sized business (SMBs) as well as the needs of major producers of flavors and fragrances; which is why Metano offers value-added capabilities which include stainless steel IBC rental/lease option, testing, maintenance, repair, and logistics management for storage and shipping.

Rental and Lease/Purchase Options

The F&F industry is prone, like many other manufacturing industries, to seasonal variations and economic fluctuations. Raw material price increases, reduced liquid product availability from suppliers, and holiday consumption spikes can all contribute to variations in inventory, production, and shipping demands. To address the needs of different situations arising in different companies we offer a reliable IBC rental program, allowing smaller manufacturers to protect valuable capital and to increase or decrease the movement of products as needed.

Whether a business is facing a seasonal backlog or experiencing a major purchase order, renting the required equipment will eliminate the need to buy more IBC's than regularly needed. Our sales teams can also assist with lease/purchase options for those companies that prefer to own IBC's, yet spread the payments out over a period of time.

Testing, Maintenance, and Repair of IBCs

The Department of Transportation (DOT) requires adherence to specific packaging, labeling, and construction guidelines for the national and international transportation of liquid materials. Our cMetano_tanks_on_steam_2.jpgontainers are constructed to meet 'UN Approved' packaging and construction requirements. Additional, Metano offers periodic UN/DOT leakproof testing which is required every 30 months, and UN metal thickness testing (required every 60 months).

Shipping containers may sustain damage and abuse from material handling equipment and OTR shipping. The DOT requires all service equipment to remain fully functional and free from damage which may cause failure. Metano offers IBC maintenance programs which also serves to provide periodic inspections for missing, broken, or damaged parts that must be repaired or replaced.

IBC Logistics and Tracking

As an added service, our trained and experienced logistics staff will provide IBC inventory management, IBC tracking utilizing web-based reporting software, temporary storage, and transportation. As a third-party logistics provider (3PL), we focus on solutions from warehousing to route management to delivery, meaning your company can focus on what it does best - the supply or production of flavors and fragrances.

Allow our network of storage and transportation providers to work for your business, as a cost-effective solution over purchasing costly warehouse space and additional staff. Our years of experience have made us experts in all aspects of the flavor and fragrance industry.

Operating as a value-added equipment supplier and logistics solution provider, Metano's business model offers additional services above and beyond the company's standard product line at little or no cost to supplier and producers of flavors and fragrances.
