Stainless Steel IBC Tanks Reduce the Risk of Fire

One of the questions we’re frequently asked in the IBC industry concerns the transportation and storage of

stainless steel IBCscombustible liquids. As more industries use liquid bulk packaging, there’s a growing need to move these combustible materials from facility to manufacturer to customer. And with moving liquids comes the risk of fire ― but this risk can be greatly reduced with stainless steel IBCs.

At Metano, we take fire prevention very seriously, and were happy to read about the National Fire Protection Association’s new campaign to prevent IBC fires. The campaign promotes the use of only properly-inspected and certified containers for liquid storage and handling ― and stainless steel IBCs make the cut.

These stainless steel tanks are specially constructed to reduce flammability, and comply with all appropriate government regulations.

Stainless steel tanks offer:

  • Superior, 10-gauge construction for strength and durability
  • Fusible vent covers for the safe release of toxic vapors
  • Sloped-bottom construction for complete tank drainage and residual cleaning
  • Large capacity for reduced handling and fewer accidents
  • Compliance with NFPA 30 flammable liquids code
  • UN/DOT certified for transportation of regulated products

When selecting the best method to store your industrial liquids, we advise you to choose wisely, and consider the advantages of stainless steel IBCs. Our in-house experts are available to review your exact application requirements. We also invite you to view our stainless steel fire-test demonstration video to learn more.
